My primary rod and reel are an 8 weight behemoth. Honestly loved it so much, I bought a 5 weight to keep in my car so when I see a solid stream driving. Great reel

My pole fell out of my rack while driving and my pole flipped and scrapped all over the road and someone ran it over. Found it later and while the pole was broken in pieces, the reel looked like it was barely dropped. I have the black color. Function was not compromised at all after. It is a little heavier than I would like but very worth it.

This is my second redington reel, the first being a zero. It is quite a bit heavier and has a larger profile than the zero, but that is to be expected. The durability and reliability are the same though (can take a beating) which are the biggest factors for me. They also look slick. No reason for me to upgrade any time soon.

surprised how much abuse this reel has gone through and still performs well, great value.

Got the hunter orange the color looks great. Holds up well to everything I've put it through and I've had no issues with performance.

The Redington Behemoth 5/6 is just a solid reel for the money. I use it for both saltwater and steelhead. The behemoth is a big reel in general, so take that into consideration when you are comparing reels. I found that the 5/6 size is other manufacturer's size 8/9 or so. The drag can be set easily from "almost nothing" to "stop a train" with the twist of the dial. This reel at its full drag setting is crazy strong, and there are plenty of intermediate drag settings to dial it in. You aren't stuck with either none or full on the drag settings with this reel. This reel and the Redington Zero (for trout) are great reels that won't break the budget. The Crosswater is good as well for a super budget reel, however the details aren't quite as refined on it than the details on Zero/Behemoth. Just wash off your reel after every saltwater use, and this reel will last a long time.

The behemoth is a great reel for the money. It's drag is as good as many of my higher price reels. I picked this reel up for bass fishing on on the river out of my canoe. It takes a beating and it's still going strong. It also doubles as a saltwater reel sometimes. Definitely worth the small price tag. As always bought from reelflyrod with no tax and free shipping.
