This bag is one of the finest products I have ever owned. it does everything its stated to do. The waterproof compartment is exactly what you need if you plan on getting a little wet. Highly recommned if you are looking for a waterproof sling.

This sling bag is my go to bag for all trips. The waterproof compartment is air tight. Literally!!! When trying to pack the bag for travel I have leave it slightly unzipped otherwise its like packing an air filled balloon. This bag holds all your needed gear and some. I've been let down by other sling bags but not this one. Great bag for the moving angler.

I use this primarily for inshore saltwater fishing on the shores of the Cape and Martha's Vineyard, and have found it to a perfect fit for carrying an afternoon of essentials - including a spare jacket and personal items. The zippers are bullet proof, and the large, clean interior is ideal. I also love the way it rides on my back - I hardly know it's there. A great pack, all around!

Took this pack on a recent trip to the Kenai peninsula. Wading through waist deep glacier water this pack kept my gear dry and handy. Perfect size. Large enough to carry all the essentials plus a few extras, like a raincoat and a pack lunch. Fly patch on the strap was very handy. Good for drying out used, wet, flies or quickly changing out a couple of your favorite patterns. Solid sling pack!

Love that this is water proof! Have had many times when I'm wading deep and this pack has gotten submerged. It kept my stuff bone dry. I bring this everywhere. Love the fly patch on the strap and the thought that has gotten into it. Just don't put too much of a heavy load with a long day of fishing or your shoulder might get sore. Still, I give it 5 stars.

I bought this for surf casting in rough Atlantic conditions, and That's hard on equipment. I wanted a pack to carry a light amount of tackle and keep a camera safe, and still be able to cast without interference. The Thunderhead sling is well built with very heavy zippers, and I think it will hold up well in saltwater. I'll probably be buying the lumbar version as well.

Purchasing the Fishpond Thunderhead submersible sling from Reelflyrod ended a two year search for a functional pack that would really keep my gear dry. As a stream trout fisherman I sometimes found myself in deeper water than intended and consequently would spend time at the end of a trip drying out fly boxes and rigs. I now have confidence that the Thunderhead sling will keep things dry. It has plenty of secure loops and attachment places for zingers and gear and comes with loops to carry an extra rod in its case, I also like the option to place my net in the sleeve built into the pack. Nice, wide shoulder strap and a waist strap with a snap for quick release. Is it perfect? Not quite. I would like one or two more organizers in the waterproof area in addition to the clear pocket and zippered pocket that is already there. And my personal preference would be for a wider waist strap to help take more weight off the shoulder. Nonetheless, after two years of searches and purchases I think I've found the best pack for my kind of fishing. Reelflyrod helped make it happen in a timely and affordable fashion. Thanks!
