In early development, we realized that the larger the line weight and heavier the reel, the more effective the Center Axis concept would be at creating a more balanced, connected feel when casting. The challenge was how to deal with the considerable forces experienced when fighting a heavy fish. The load path from the fighting butt to the grip needed to be strengthened. We accomplished this by integrating a modular, 3 piece “arch” into the structure, which efficiently transmits load without flexing. But, no matter how effective the Center Axis is at reducing reel-induced inputs, the system can only be as good as the rod it’s fitted to. To that end, we’ve developed rods that seamlessly blend a solid lower section with a crisp, energetic and lively tip, easily and intuitively generating line speed and clean, smooth loops.
