By importing the cast frame but assembling the reel with the US made CNC-machined drag system here in Boise, Idaho Lamson is able to maintain the quality expected a Lamson reel while offering a surprising price point.

I'm not cheap, but I do like value for my money so I do considerable research and shop pretty hard for best deals before buying. After research I ended up with a short list of three reels to consider, including the Lamson Liquid. With the three pack at a price that matched the lowest I could find anywhere plus the $25 new customer discount I couldn't really pass this up. Have to say, after spooling it up and running it through an hour of practice casts in the snow, I'm pretty impressed with the reel. Fit and finish are better than I expected. Action is really smooth. The clicker is plastic but it serves no function other than to make noise so if it breaks it won't affect performance. No complaints to be found.

All the Lamson reels I own are great. The three guru's, a Force and Liquid are well made. Their customer services is great. I got the Liquid three pack for three different lines I use for lake fishing. The reel is cast but since I'm in a boat I'm not worried about a cast reel being dropped. The tolerances on this reel is very close to their machined reels. The price from Reel Fly Rodis hard be beat using the point system.
