WATERWORKS-LAMSON REMIX -5+ FLY REEL : 4-6WT
The Waterworks-Lamson Remix -5+ is quite possibly the best value for a trout and bass angler on the market. Pair it with an entry level or mid-price rod and you have a great set up without breaking the bank, but the Remix -5+ is also a phenomenal option if you need to work a budget and still want to get that Radian, H3 or X rod on the water. The fully machined, US made frame offers the quality of much more expensive reels but by pairing it with a cast aluminum spool it comes in at a price significantly lower than most fully machined reels equipped with a drag system.
A fusion between the free-form structures of a cast spool and the mechanical integrity of a CNC-machined case, Remix is a hybrid. The case, CNC-machined here in the U.S. from 6061 bar-stock aluminum, delivers maximum structural rigidity and durability wrapped in a harder, brighter finish. The spool is pressure cast to ensure a snug connection while keeping the cost down. All critical drag components are CNC-machined in the U.S. and like Liquid, the Remix reels are assembled in Boise, Idaho.
Lamson Liquid and Remix Spools are interchangeable, allowing anglers a great price on a spool whether you have purchased a Lamson Liquid or a Lamson Remix Fly Reel.
Lamson Liquid Series and Remix Series Fly Reel Color Sleeve: Liquid and Remix reels ship with the standard black anodized cassette. Three color sleeves are offered as an option for consumers to customize their reel. This anodized aluminum sleeve fits over the standard cassette. Colors include: Burnt Orange, Coral Blue, and Salsa Green and retail for $9.95.

I purchased the Remix to accompany the Lamson Liquid Fly Reel Three Pack I had also purchased. The Remix's hybrid configuration of a machined case and cast spool is a nice option. My spare spools from my Liquid I can use on the Remix which adds a lot of versatility at a very low cost. The machined case adds a little extra to the Remix but the fact that the Liquid and Remix both use the excellent drag system as on the higher end Lamson reels makes them both an excellent purchase.

This is a fantastic reel for any 4, 5, or 6wt fly rods of any physical weight. I have it paired with my g Loomis IMX-PRO 966-4 and my 9ft 5wt and it pairs perfectly. It looks amazingly in both black or sublime and has a great drag and backing capacity. On top of that it is 100% built in Idaho, so you cannot ask for much more. You will not be disappointed.

I purchased this reel for my daughter. For the price this is a very well made reel and the drag was excellent. I have never owned a Lamson reel but after purchasing and using this one i may look at some of their other reels as i understand they all have the same drag system. Highly recommend for the money.
