LOON PAYETTE PASTE
An excellent paste floatant designed for line, leader and tippet as well as flies. The paste rubs on clear, keeping leader and tippet floating on top. It can also be used as a temporary treatment for damaged floating lines. As a fly floatant, Payette Paste can be applied to large flies, giving wings and bodies a smooth silky coating. It will keep its’ texture regardless of temperature.

I use to float my sighter euro-nymphing, and to refresh the tip of my floating line on the river if it starts to sink. I also use it to grease my leader dry-fly fishing to keep the leader on top. The stuff works great, is easy to apply just a little bit, and is priced fairly.

I purchased the paste to float my sighter when euro nymphing fast moving pocket water but I've found myself using it in more applications when double dry fly rigs and poppers for bass and blue gill. I will even put a bit on one of my old fly lines when they're not staying up. Doesn't take much and they're up!

Loon Payette paste is a great product for helping float your leader or sighter. It is much thicker than traditional floatants. It is almost a waxy consistency. It is especially useful when euronymphing and you want your leader and sighter to stay on top of the water. I tie extra knots in my sighter and leave small tags in place. A small amount of Loon Payette paste applied to these knots and tags keep the sighter on top of the water if there is any slack. With these knots being more visible I am able to more easily detect strikes and hook more fish. It can also be used on your leader when fishing dry flies. The paste keeps the leader on top of the water and eliminates the sinking leader from pulling your fly under. There is really no other product like it on the market and I highly recommend giving it a try.
