There are 4 different density lines to cover every fishing situation:

Featuring a short, powerful front taper and plenty of weight at the front, the lines have no problem casting the biggest of flies with ease. Whether floating or sink tip, each line is built on RIO’s low stretch ConnectCore Plus for maximum performance, and features SlickCast—the slickest, most durable coating on the market.
There are 4 different density lines to cover every fishing situation:
- A Full Floating line (F), for top water action
- A Floating Line with 10ft of "Hover" Sinking line, then 10ft of Intermediate Sinking line at the front (F/H/I), for fishing in the top 2-3 ft
- A Floating Line with 10ft of Intermediate Sinking line, then 10ft of Medium-Sinking line at the front (F/I/S3), for fishing mid-water
- A Floating Line with 10ft of Fast-Sinking line, then 10ft of Extra-Fast Sinking line at the front (F/S5/S7), for getting down deep and fast

Bought the S3 for lake and low water streamer fishing in Michigan, and the line is great. Can handle big streamers and lands almost as soft as the Rio 4D.

I bought this paired with a SageR8. Bought the r8 before they released the salt version.
I'm using it for surf fishing Socal and chucking big streamers from a drift boat.
Even two big flies turn over well and get down quickly.

I've generally stuck to fishing intermediate lines in the past, but decided I wanted something that would get my big streamers just a little deeper. The 10wt F/I/S3 was just what the doctor called for. No more counting down my intermediate line for 20 seconds when I suddenly find myself needing to go deep. This line turns over those big streamers with ease and gets them into the strike zone quickly.

Gets big streamers in the strike zone. Like the three different density line for effective swing method. Just count for how far you want it to sink and strip more to get fly up in water column! Love it!!

Casts and handles like a dream! Not convinced that it sinks tip first as well as other lines. However, this is the easiest handling, smoothest casting sink tip I have ever used.
