RIO IN-TOUCH TECHNICAL TROUT FLY LINE

The RIO In-Touch Technical Trout fly line, New for 2020, features a long, fine front taper for the lightest of presentations and delicacy and is the ideal choice of line when fishing dry flies, nymphs, soft hackles and emergers to tricky eaters at distance. The line has a long head and back taper to increase loop control when carrying long lengths, and for making precise casts to rising fish, while the weight distribution makes it easy to turn over long leaders for technical feeders at range. The ultra-low stretch ConnectCore provides incredible levels of sensitivity when casting and fishing. Pair this with any 3wt -6wt fly rod that is targeting trout.

    FEATURES:

    • Long front taper turns over flies with delicacy and precision
    • Extended head and back taper increases loop control when carrying long lengths of line
    • Specifically designed to turn over long leaders for technical trout
    • EasyID to quickly identify fly line

I have the 4 and 5 WT lines, tested on Sage Accel 4 & 5, Hardy Zenith 4 & 5, G Loomis NRX LP 4 & 5, Winston BIIT 8.5 4WT, Winston WT 5, Winston IM6 8.5 2PC 5wt, and the G Loomis Asquith. This line works very well on MED-Fast to Fast action rods. It was too heavy on my slower action rods like my Winston IM6. I did not like it on the 4WT Asquith, or the 4wt NRX LP, but the 5 NRX LP felt good. My Hardy rods and Winston BIIT 8.5 4wt loved this line. Personally I think this line is miss labeled. A taper design with the weight at the front of the taper does not equal delicate presentations in my experience. It's great with a lot of line in the air, and for turning over big flies, but not for placing small files down with feather light precision. I do like the long head with my faster rods, it works very well on most of my rods, and some made me pause and say WOW! To me this is a more general use long taper for faster rods, feels like a elongated SA MPX. It's a very good line on the right action rod, but unlike the name, do't use it on lighter action rods. If you do, underline it or it will overload the rod. If you want a true line for delicate presentations NOTHING beats the original Wulff Triangle Taper, probably the most underrated line in the entire business.
