I bought this rod in late September 2021. Have only been able to use it one time before the season ended for me. Very accurate fly placement (wet and dry). Used a Rio Gold 4 weight line because I hadn’t yet purchased a new line for this rod. It did fine with the 4 wt line although for shorter distances it didn’t lay down so smooth. I have since purchased the Winston 3 weight line that is sized and tested for this rod and can’t wait until next season to try it. This rod is one of the kost expensive rods out there but truly a gem.

This is an excellent rod. Soft hackle and dry flies are able to be precisely placed. I have also used some heavier flies and was surprised at the accuracy. I have never purchased a rod in this price range but am glad I did.

While this is only a 3W, the rod has plenty of power to get the dry fly out there 60 feet and delicate. All distances less than 60 are with total accuracy. The price may be steep, but this is a premium rod to own for a very long time. I highly recommend for dry fly fishing in the NJ and PA area.
