The Orvis Clearwater rod's focus is Euro Nymphing and it does quite well with a tip that is pretty sensitive however if you run into a middle of hatch, it throws dries extremely well and accurately. The rod is a little heavy but for the price, along with its 25 year warranty it's a great value. ReelFlyRod shipping was fast and their customer service can't be beat!

Great nymphing rod in 3 weight. Good starter rod for euro nymphing without breaking the bank.

I use this rod with the Troutbitten.com MonoRig and it is perfect. Good for nymphing and thows dries well. Handles big fish well and bends all the way to the grip. A true blast to use.

Although I haven't used this rod in the river yet, I feel the rod is light weight, quick, and it must be useful for euro nymphing exactly. And I expect to use for dry fly as well. I'm totally satisfied with this rod including pricing.

I have used this rod a few times now and it is of perfect for euronymphing. The rod is light, sensitive and has plenty of length for leading nymph rigs. The rod also casts small dries really well. I own 3 other orvis rods at various price points but this Clearwater level rod with 25 year warranty is an incredible value.

Used this rod a few times now as a Euro nymphing rod and it has worked great! It is nice and light, and is quite sensitive. The rod feels really nice, and the warranty makes me more comfortable using it out on the water with no problem.

I bought this fly rod last September and took it out for multiple trips over the winter to get my opinion formed prior to making a review. Honestly, this rod is really nice, it has a good feel, and it balances nicely without having a very oversized reel. It is sensitive, for the price, and it still has the Orvis 25 year warranty. The only thing is it is on the heavier end of the lightweight euro nymphing rods, but again for the price you can not beat the quality. The extra weight makes me feel a little bit better playing larger fish as well.

Purchased this Orvis Clearwater Rod to use in the mountain lakes of the Eastern Sierra', I and my son Float Tube this lakes numerous times during the season. I have an older 4wt Orvis Clearwater rod that has performed great in the past. Wanted to go to a 3wt since most of the fish are in the 1 to 3 pound range so the lighter line weight will work out great.
Quality of both the Fit and Finished of the Rod is what is expected for Orvis, will be using the Rod for it's first trip over the 4th of July holiday weekend. I do expect the Rod to perform as well as my other Orvis Rod.
Price point for the quality of the Rod is excellent, have seen higher priced Rods that do not have the same quality of this Orvis Rod.
