RIO AQUALUX II FLY LINE *ON SALE!*
RIO’s Aqualux II line has a 30ft, clear intermediate head that sinks about 1.5 to 2 ips, and is deadly efficient for fishing between 2ft and 6ft in depth in stillwater. The short head makes it very easy to cast, and reduces the number of false casts required to get the line out - resulting in more fishing time. The head integrates seamlessly in to a translucent green, intermediate sinking running line that is super slick, and shoots with the utmost ease. Each line features a welded loop in the front end for fast rigging.
FEATURES
- Powerful, front loaded head for easy casting and maximum distance
- Range of densities - perfect for fishing in the top layers of the water column
- Unique taper profiles, custom designed for each line

Great intermediate line for the price.

Used this on my Spectrum C / Mojo Bass rod combo to fish streamers from a kayak for bass this past summer/fall. This line cast very well, was easy to control and got good distance with it when needed. It was much better than another lesser expensive floating line that I was also using in the same scenario. I would definitely recommend this line.

I initially reviewed this line (7wt) back in early March. I had just purchased it and wanted to share some initial thoughts after some practice casting. I rated it well at the time, but wanted to follow up with more feedback now that I've had the chance to see it perform in the field.
To begin, I had mentioned the line being a little on the heavy side (240 grain for 7wt) in my original review. At the time, I had reservations about casting such a heavy line for prolonged periods. After four days of slinging large streamers at Tiger Muskie, Smallmouth and Striper, I can confidently say the heavier line did not lead to any arm fatigue. More over, it performed admirably throughout. It turned over large flies with ease. Quickly got my unweighted streamers down into the water column. And handled well while battling large fish. Though I had a few 7wt line with me, this is the only one I used when targeting the aforementioned species. It is simply a great intermediate line and one I plan to purchase in other weights as well. Easy 5 Stars!!

Picked up this line a month ago in hopes of adding to my stillwater arsenal. While I've yet to catch a fish on it, I have taken it out for a few trial runs. It is a little on the heavy side as the other reviewer mentioned, and upon review the 7wt line I ordered comes in at 240 grain. Still it loads and shoots well, and I've had no problem turning over rather some larger pike streamers I've thrown on it. Also have to say I'm a fan of the clear tip section on this line. Nice touch.

Nice line, tangles occasionally but not a ton of memory problems. Shoots well. But check out the grain weights before buying. My 8wt is 280 grains.
