Rio Perception works great with my 5wt Sage X rod and Lamson litespeed g5 reel. Couldn't be happier.

I purchased this line to load up a Sage Spectrum C reel ( 6 weight) . I really like this line for the no stretch factor . It casts true , and provides solid hook sets . The color pattern is really nice for determining your length of cast by just look at the color change . Would definitely recommend !

Purchased this to use with a newly purchased sage x 376-4 rod. I was nervous about it loading the rod properly with a short amount of line out based on other reviews I read, but no issues here. The pairing is very nice so far having used it on some small south eastern, pa trout streams.

I'm using this line on a 6wt medium fast action rod. The line cast well and will handle everything from small non-bead head wooly buggers to weighted streamers. As is my normal practice, I will stretch a line before use. What's interesting is that the In Touch lines have no stretch and as a result there really is no stretch them. It’s been my experience that the line casts laser straight and the hooksets are very good, as I’ve caught more than a few 16” to 20” rainbows.
I’ve fished a number of different Rio lines and the In Touch lines are head and shoulders better than their non-In Touch lines. This line, and In Touch Grand, cast so well that the price seems reasonable.
As in interesting side note, I’ve found the 6wt Perception matches well to my 9’ 5wt Orvis Recon. I have Perception in both 5wt and 6wt, and I prefer the 6wt on the Recon as it loads better and gives the rod more feel.

Perfect fit for my 4 wt Winston Pure Rod, both in close and at distance. Best handling and feeding line I’ve ever used!

I've used this line as the main line for my fast-action 5-weight, and I think it suits that purpose really well. It splits the difference between RIO's all-purpose line the Gold and it's really aggressive line the Grand. The Perception is 50% heavier than the AFFTA standard for a given line weight (versus the 100% for the Grand, which means that a 5-weight line is really just a 6-weight?). I find that this heavy-but-not-too-heavy approach means that it casts well on a lot of rods. Plus it shoots really well. It's great for big rivers like the Missouri. Plus, the InTouch really helps make a direct connection between the rod and the fish. My only issue with this line is the same issue that I have with all RIO lines. The durability and coating seem to wear out faster than other companies. It's not bad, but my Scientific Anglers lines definitely last longer. Still, it's a really good line, and it's great for fast rods.
