I’ll echo what the other two reviewers said. Great spare spool for an excellent reel. Spendy, perhaps, but as the old adage goes: you get what you pay for. In this case, that’s a meticulously crafted, lightweight, highly functional piece of gear made in the USA. I always prefer to have a second spare spool for my good reels. I typically purchase a different color from primary spool. Lighter color = floating line, darker color = sinking line.

This is just the second spool to accompany the Ross Evolution LTX. I love the reel. Fantastic drag for a reel of this price. Works well. I got the black reel and now wish I Had gone with the platinum. Over the course of use I set it on rocks and drop it in the stream. It has held up well, but cosmetically there are lots of little paint nicks that would be less visible if I’d selected platinum.

This is the spare spool that accompanies the Ross Reels Evolution LTX reel. Personally, I prefer having an extra spool. It allows me to easily switch between line types or line weights when the conditions require it. The Evolution LTX reel itself is really what warrants the review. It is incredibly light and gives off a sweet sound and feel when a fish takes off with your line. It has one of the best drags I have ever used. It easily handles monster runs by big fish. It's a work horse, meant to take years of abuse and punishment on the water and should easily last a lifetime. This is a must have for all anglers. Pick one up and you will have a hard time fishing anything else.
