Tippet Rings are small, very strong and lightweight, and make rigging and tippet replacement fast and easy
A leader with a tippet ring turns over perfectly, and they are light enough to use when fishing dry flies. Just tie the tippet ring to a leader with a clinch knot, and then add the required tippet in the same way. Tapered leaders last longer with a tippet ring as the leader will not be shortened every time the angler replaces the tippet. Tippet rings also make it extremely easy to add droppers, and are an excellent choice for European Style Nymphing and for Indicator nymph fishing.

I had not heard of tippet rings as I am rather new to fly fishing. Watched a video that made me think I should give them a try. I am glad I did. I think I have extended the life of my leaders quite a bit. Also makes it easier for me to know when to tie on new tippet. They are small though and easy to lose if not careful.

Have used these for a few years now. No issues at all. I was scared the edges might be sharp, but never had and cuts out damage to 7x tippet. I use then mostly on my euro rigs, but also great on a dry dropper set up with a adjustable dry fly to keep the dry fly from siding down the leader.

These are high quality, helpful little gadgets. I use these in direct line nymphing. Tip: Leave them on the swivel they come on until AFTER you tie the ring to your tipper.

As a new fly fisherman, these were recommended to me by a friend that has been fly fishing for years. I'm very happy I've added these to my arsenal. I can see how it will definitely save my leaders and let's face it, those aren't cheap over time. Highly suggest these!
