SWINGING D FLY
This pattern is extremely effective, especially early and late in the season. It gives a great profile and is easy to see from above because of the white wing. Spring crickets are typically dark brown, and fall crickets and hoppers are also dark, especially after the first frost.

Man does this thing slowly sink and spread out in the water it looks so tasty I had largemouth crushing it on top of the water late winter. Quick stips followed by a long pause has gotten me some big fish.

I use this with an 8wt setup, A little hairy when it's windy, but a great quality fly with double hooks, I use it for Bass but I can't imagine anything hungry that wouldn't look twice at this guy!
