Performance
After trying out the Echo Trout X, the immediate thought from our Pro Staff was "Wow!" and an "I hope this rod doesn't cost more than $500". Our fears were easily quelled as our Echo rep told us that the rod would come in under the $400 mark. Firmly putting itself in the lower end of the mid-priced rod price range, the Echo Trout X is sure to make waves as a high-quality stick that doesn't break the bank.
One thing that our Pro Staff noticed was that no matter how fast or slow we cast the rod, we were each able to cleanly lay down line at 40-50' out, traditional trout targeting ranges.
We love the new Echo Trout X for the wide variety of applications that it can cover while targeting trout. There's a Trout X rod available for small creeks, large streams, and wide river while also possessing the ability to throw diminutive size 22 dries to chunky streamers.
Action
Tim Rajeff, legendary rod designer, developed the Trout X series with a new technology that Echo calls Variable Sweet Spot, or VSS. Variable Sweet Spot means that the caster perceives the "sweet spot" feel and control at a wide range of distances.
Echo on the new Variable Sweet Spot technology -
"It is a rod action where every inch of the rod gets progressively stiffer as you move from the tip to the butt. This action has no large, sweet spot optimized for a cast of a specific distance. We think the VSS action offers good to expert casters the ability to adjust their stroke to the line speed they need for success. It is an action entry level anglers and beginner casters will grow into but is optimized for better casters."

Warranty
All ECHO rods are covered by our policy over the natural life of the product for the original owner at the discretion of Rajeff Sports. Rods that are determined to be damaged by abuse or neglect, either by physical or environmental factors (excessive wear and tear beyond normal use, saltwater corrosion, mold damage, damage from vehicles, etc) are not covered by the Echo warranty policy.
