The Fishpond Thunderhead Series are superior fly fishing equipment. I had the old version of the backpack and now the new ECO version. If looking at any of the Thunderhead Series the main differences between the original and new ECO series are the zipper (smooth vs jagged teeth)and the pack material (more matte feeling vs slippery). I love all Fishpond Gear and you cannot go wrong with any version.

Love the material and design - exactly what I was looking for in a waterproof backpack. The size is great and Fishpond didn't overdue it with too many pockets or storage spaces. Can't wait to take this on my next fishing trip!

I bought this backpack for my boyfriend and he LOVES it. It is very high quality. It is big enough to hold ALL of his gear (that he MUST have on him at all times). And it looks awesome too!

Anything that Fishpond makes is fabricated out of the best material. Pared with the quickshot attachment, this combo is a must on any flats.

The fishpond backpack is obviously a stellar product but the customer service was even better. Fantastic communication and lightning fast shipping. I can't say enough about the crew at ReelFlyRod!!! Thanks!

Great waterproof protection. Pricey but worth the expense to protect your gear.

I have always been a Fishpond fan. I use their lumbar pack as well. I needed a backpack that would be good for backpack fishing in the mountains in NC. I am very glad I chose this one. It is completely waterproof. It is, however, on the bigger end of backpacks, at least for me. But the payoff is plenty of room for throwing layers and a jacket in pack along with lunch and fly boxes as well. The only thing I wish Fishpond had incorporated in this bag was a net slot somewhere. But other than that, I love it!

I was torn between this and one of the Simm's submersible backpacks and I'm glad that I went with this one in the end. Just took it out over the weekend and it was great: tons of room and the chest, waist, and shoulder straps offer great support. Lots of room inside this one.
