Super comfortable and really handy. I like having something to put my water in without having my back carry most of the weight. This helps to distribute the weight evenly

I have used other Sling Packs in the past and this one is the most customizable Ive found. There is plenty of room for several fly boxes and other gear. The sling can be worn over either the left or right shoulder. I have not used the net holder as i do not have a long handled net. I would defiantly recommend this sling.

I've used many packs and many fishpond packs. I tried one of these out in store and it has the best combination of room, net holder, comfortability, and all around versatility. Fishpond never ceases to amaze. 10/10

Plenty of room to hold multiple boxes and all my gear. Been using it all summer mountain stream fishing. Comfortable and I like the net holder

Have used my new and first sling pack 3 times wading in streams and after figuring out the right strap adjustments and net placement, I'm really happy with it. Hold enough fly boxes, tippet spools, tools, water bottle, packable jacket, snack, and more. Easily swings around and does not drop my net, and the my net doesn't get in the way when I"m re-rigging/tying my line. Also bought a pair of the Laredo accessory straps in case I want to carry a rod tube or have to carry something like a heavier jacket. The adjustable internal dividers are a great feature too. I compared this to the Simms and Umpqua sling packs and preferred this one for flexible storage options, size, and ease of use.

Very happy with this sling pack. It has enough space for all the gear you need, as well as room for a jacket and a small lunch. I picked up the rod holder and found it doesn’t work well with the pack however, the snap comes undone and really isn’t a one-handed operation as advertised, so you can skip that addition.

Whenever I first got the sling, it was larger than I had expected. But, after getting caught in a downpour with my smaller sling, I realized the value of the Flathead. The Flathead is large enough to fit several fly boxes plus lunch and a raincoat. Which comes in handy if you hike in to fish somewhere.
It's loaded with features and very comfortable to carry. The water bottle attachment at the bottom seems to be in the perfect spot to really balance it out to where it doesn't feel like you're carrying a heavy sling.

I had a hip pack much smaller and a SIMMS sling that was too big. I feel like this is the perfect size to give me enough room for all my gear and a few roadies but not too big that I get sick of carrying it after a few hours when my shoulder starts to ache. My only complaint is the net holder can be a little cumbersome when I take it on and off but it works pretty well. Love the front magnet puch for fly boxes.

I decided on the flathead sling because of the size and features. I had an idea of what I wanted and features - bottle holders, outside spots for tools, and space for lunch/jacket. This fit the bill. I like the overall construction. I have started to load it up to get a feel for it. It is definitely roomy inside. I like the magnet close pouch. I wish the "tags" for tool placement on the shoulder strap had a little more distance to the tool loop. Not sure if that makes sense, I bought the Fishpond tool retractor attached to shoulder strap with some nippers, but it does not sit well on the strap when wearing the bag. This could be user error. I am still trying to the bag laid out the way I like it.
I like all the gear tie down points on the bag, seems to be well thought out.
