Excellent reel for the price. With a Rio Single Handed Spey Line this gives me the ability for longer casts using my 4 weight. As always excellent service and quick delivery.

Very simple reel but it works great. With a large fish, you may have to palm the reel a bit but that’s part of the fun of this type of reel.

Love these for the price and weight. No drag adjustment but hardly ever need it. Only complaint is how loud it is!

I bought one of these little click and pawl reels last year to fish the front range in Colorado. The first thing I noticed was the weight. I thought they must have made a mistake and sent me a spool, not the whole reel! The zero lives up to its name - a true featherweight. It matched my 4wt, 8 ft perfectly. (My other reels are machined with fancy drag systems and are all more than 200 bucks.) I figured I could get away with this little guy because I assumed I would be catching smaller fish. I hadn't anticipated three, 20-inch rainbows but this reel handled them with ease. In one case, the #18 BWO hook was bent to hell by the fish but the 6x tippet held up. I have also dropped this reel plenty and it hasn't bent or broke. The design is elegant- with a push button release at the center of the spool and it comes in some wild colors too. The sound of the zero is the sound of fly fishing- a zip and rippy zing that reminds me why I don't throw Rapalas and plastic worms anymore. At under 100 bucks, buy a couple of these and don't look back. If you are jumping on the fiberglass train, I can't think of a better companion for your new rod. Thanks Redington for another great product that regular folks like me can afford.
