Winner Best of Show New Accessories IFTD 2022, the new Abel Nipper is the finest cutting tool on the market, featuring rare-earth magnets to keep the jaws open instead of a hinge and spring. Abel originally set the bar for high-end nippers when they debuted back in 2007. It has been the only nipper available with dual cutting surfaces versus a cutter-and-anvil design, making it the premier cutting tool on the market for everything from 8X tippet to braid.
The new Abel nippers takes that same principle, but puts it together with new ergonomics, type III anodized bodies, as well as a brand new magnetic “spring.” Two sets of rare earth magnets keep the jaws open without a hinge that can be subject to corrosion issues while also acting as a reliable “fly dock” to attach your flies to while rigging. Available with 3 body color options, and our full range of solid gloss colors on the central scale, there are over 54 different combinations to choose from.
- Mil-Spec Type III anodize
- Machined 7075 aluminum body
- Custom-anodized 6061 aluminum body inserts
- Replaceable 440C stainless steel jaws, heat treated to 58 Rockwell, and user sharpenable
- Opposing rare earth magnets work as a spring that won’t corrode or fail
- Magnetic fly dock designated for temporarily holding and storing flies
- Replaceable stainless steel hook eye cleaner
- Easily adjustable lanyard made of polyurethane braid, and machined aluminum
- Made in USA

These nippers are the best and are very sharp.

Wonderful nippers, the last pair I will ever have to buy. Well worth the investment. Yes people may have sticker shock, but given the endless pairs of less expensive ones I have bought over the decades, this will be something I can handle to the kids and grandkids.

Industrially built nippers!

Yup, they are everything they say they are. The magnet is even more useful than I anticipated. Have full confidence three will hold up on my home waters on the corrosive Texas flats.

After my Simms Pro Nipper went dull after 2 seasons, I wanted to find something that would last as there are no replacement blades. Loved that they had a hard to find Brook Trout on hand. If you want the best, don't hesitate.

I have had these nippers for over 2 years and I can confirm they are overdesigned and overbuilt as compared to any other nippers I have used! Incredible quality and durability.

These are gorgeous nippers. The brown trout pattern is so detailed and intricate. Yeah they're definitely pricy, but a work of art. And of course they cut like buttahhh!

I brought this nipper to Au Sable last week, the color pattern of the trout I caught is perfectly match the color of my nipper, the native brown. I think the nipper is blessed lol.

Best nipper on the market. Overpriced? Probably but one of the more fun splurges I’ve made. They also make great gifts to your fly fishing buddies. They might even let you borrow it in a pinch.
