In 2013, the Bougle was recreated for the original’s 110th birthday, using most of the same features such as its rolling pillar, navel brass bush and spindle and “pearl silver” finish, but with updated machining techniques and materials. Today the 1939 Hardy Bougle Fly Reel pays homage to both the original Bougle and the still available “2013 Bougle”. Like Hardy the Bougle reels are an amazing testament to never forgetting the past while always moving forward.
