I bought this originally to tie squirmies. It didn't degrade the plastic. I now use it for all of my flies.

No odor or fumes, and very effective at penetrating threads. It does take longer to dry than super glues and UV resins, but once cured, it seems to be rock hard. I also loved the precision of the applicator needle.
