Very pleased with my purchase of the Sonic 691-4. This rod has a beautiful dark green colored blank and comfortable grip. I bought this rod to throw streamers and to fish heavier nymph rigs when I’m fishing higher water. This rod is capable of both. Highly recommend this product. Made with Sage’s Konnetic Technology.

Sage Sonic 691-4 : After much deliberation in purchasing the first Sage Rod for my husband, I was not only treated to the expertise and insight from Parker at Reel Fly Rods, but snatched the rod that I know will be a perfect Christmas/ 40th Anniversary/ and 70th BD present for him. Of course I had to try it out, and discovered what I too had been missing - a great medium - fast action rod that is so accurate with slick Rio line that it knocked my socks off. I went with the fighting butt, even though the rod will mostly be used for trout, only to discover that it helps with a long cast and very much protects and helps balance the rod when working on the reel , line and bait. It is very light and feels in between the Sage X and Trout LL that I debated getting as the first purchase from Sage - my man will be stoked and I want to thank RFR for the Reel cash bonuses that made it happen at a reasonable cost.

Just got this rod the other day and used it for the first time today. Swinging all sorts of streamers and large foam flies at small mouths at a local pond. This rod was more than I wished for. From the first cast to the last hours later, it performed beautifully. I can feel every inch of the rod giving me excellent feed back when casting. Can't wait to go out again with this rod again. Highly recommend!
