New for 2020, the TFO STEALTH Euro Nymph Fly Rod was designed by TFO National Advisor Jason Randall, for the specific nature of high sticking and tight lining longer drag free nymph drifts. Paired with the correct jig or tungsten nymph flies, you will have a combo that increases hookup ratios and larger fish. The Stealth series was designed with singular goal of creating the most direct connection possible between fish and angler.
TFO engineered this rod to deliver powerful accurate multi-fly presentations yet to be extremely light and perfectly balanced as necessary for comfortable fishing and extreme sensitivity. Every decision in the creation of these rods has been driven by the goal of maximizing direct-contact fishing performance and, as a result, there is no better set of tools than the Stealth series if that is your focus.
The Stealth series is constructed with high modulus carbon fiber material and is finished in a matte green color. Two models are available – a 10’ 2-weight weighing an incredibly lite 2.8oz and a slightly longer 10’6” 3-weight offering slightly more reach and weighing 3.0oz. The series has down-locking machined aluminum reel seats and feature black single-foot stripping guides for weight savings and black single-foot snake guides. The Stealth series comes in a cloth rod sock and a TFO rod tube. Each rod is covered with TFO’s no-fault lifetime warranty against defects, making them perfect for the angler dedicated to the art of direct contact fishing

I ultimately returned this rod it was a little too stiff for me. I love TFO rods and everything about the Stealth on paper. However, I currently have a TFO Pro II 10' 5wt that I love the sensitivity on and this 3wt was an equivalent in terms of flex and stiffness. I personally prefer more sensitive rods vs more stiff rods if I had to choose and I was looking for something with more flex than my current 5wt. Again, good looking rod, great warranty, etc. Just not for my situation.

Recently I started using this rod. Very easy to use and I was able to catch big fish with this rod. it's recommended.

It’s my first tightline/Euro nymphing rod (paired with the Sage Euro reel) and I love it. The only other tight line rod I’ve used was the Orvis equivalent when I broke a tip in a car window and the fly shop on the remote river trip I was on lent/rented me one for the day. That Orvis rod was certainly sensitive but I feel like I get better turn-over with this and the blank is sturdy enough to land a big fish. By the end of this past season I was swapping out a Lamson 4 wt reel when I big hatch was in progress and throwing dries with it. Honestly I could cast dries further than any traditional 9’ rod of any weight. HIGHLY recommend this in your arsenal! It’s strikes a good balance between price & quality.

After a couple of years of learning to tight line and euro with the rods I already have. 9' 5wt, 6wt and even an 11ft switch rod, I finally decided to buy a dedicated rod. After lots of reading and looking went with the TFO Stealth. Used several times now. Good Balance and functionality, landed some nice trout. Missed several strikes because this rod has a much more flexible tip than any of the others I used. Needed to set a little quicker/harder. The flexible tip soaked up much of my set and I wasn't getting good hook ups. As I figured that out, the solid hook ups increased. No worries with catching 3-4 lb trout in current on a 3 wt. Not surprising that this rod has much more "feel" than my regular rods so its easier to tell when you are ticking bottom. Very happy with rod and I believe that it was advertised and described accurately by the company the several reviews that are out there as a high quality product at the mid-priced range. where most average working fishermen shop.
