I bought these boots last year. I am an occasional fisherman. Around 10 times during the (short) season here in Quebec. I roam in medium and large rivers, sometimes small creeks. Is it just me or what ? Bluntly speaking, I don’t understand how these boots can get 4 an more stars. Here’s my two cents :
Pros:
- Lightweight for sure.
- The Vibram sole.
- Attractive look.
Cons :
- Mediocre or even no ankle support. Very unstable.
- No rigidity of the boot itself. Very unstable.
- Poor traction of the rubber sole, even with studs. Useless, but on flat riverbeds.
- Rapid wear-off, not solid enough.
- Not so fast drying.
I would definitely not recommend these boots except for light river hikes with uniform beds.

These are great boots. I've now had three other friends purchase them based on my recommendation, and they hold up very well. Super lightweight, easy to hike in, and good traction. Highly recommend!

It took four years, but I finally wore my original pair down. Though not completely destroyed, the sole has begun to come free on one of the boots. Admittedly it can likely be fixed with a bit of shoe goo (Which I will be trying), I decided it was time to add a second pair. The originals can be relegated to backups and/or swamp/marsh shoes moving forward. Given the countless miles (hike and wade) these boots have seen, I can assure you they've earned their retirement. Can't recommend these enough.

I own these in the women’s version and purchased a size 12 for my husband. His waders have a sock size 9-11 and the size 12 is perfect for his 10.5 sized feet. He tried them out on a recent fishing trip and loved the comfort and lightness of these boots!!

I decided to go with these boots over another well-respected brand, and I am glad I did. These boots are comfortable and lightweight. The traction of the Vibram soles on the rocks is outstanding. I traversed some challenging water and never had any concern about slipping. I’m a size 9 ½ in street shoes, so I ordered a size 11, and they fit great. They do take a bit to dry out at the end of the day, but stuffing them with newspaper does the trick. The order process and shipping from ReelFlyRod were easy and fast. I am pleased with this purchase.

These wading boots are simply outstanding. I wear these size 12 boots using Sealskinz warm weather socks with Hydrostop (I live in Arizona)…my normal shoe size is 11.5 (US) and the fit is perfect. A word of caution however is advised. I am 70 years old and my feet are not the same as an individual that is in his 30s-40s (or a little younger or older) compounded by the reality that we all do not have the same feet characteristics. With age, your feet will change so my only advice is to try these wading boots with the type of socks you will be wearing…neoprene, Sealskinz, etc.. Once you have the correct combination you will be extremely satisfied.
