I needed a pair of well made quality rubber soled wading boots with option to add metal studs if needed. But high on my must have list was they needed to fit well and be light weight. These Orvis Ultralight wading boots met all of my requirements. I highly recommend them but might need to go up 1/2 or full recommended size.

I've never been a big fan of wading boots. They're heavy and cumbersome and an absolute pain (literally!) for my wide feet. I've often stuck to strap on sandals for day trips or hiking boots for treks to mountain streams, but decided to invest in legitimate wading boots prior to a week-long trip to the Rockies in 2019.
After quite a bit of research, I decided to take the plunge and pick up a pair of Orvis Ultralights. First selling point, they fit extremely comfortably (a rarity for a man who generally wears New Balance 6E widths). Beyond fit though, they were extremely light (as light as any hiking boots I own), but still rugged enough for long days of wading up and down mountain side streams. I put roughly 40 miles on these boots in the first seven days on the water and the performed perfectly. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a light pair of boots for those days that require more than a brisk walk from the car to the river. These are well-worth the cost!!

Just got the Orvis Ultralight Boot. Using it to backpack in to my favorite streams in the Sierras here in California. The light weight helps a lot on the trek back to camp.

This boot is a solid wading boot. Traction is decent, it dries relatively quick, drains well, and seems solidly constructed. The main selling point is it's lightweight for a wading boot. keep in mind part of the weight savings comes from it's more of a hybrid boot than a full boot. So if you're looking for full blown ankle support, it will work, but there are other models with more. My only issue with it is I had to go 2 sizes up and it's still a little tight. (I have wider feet so if you have normal width, it will be fine)

These boots are great. If you are looking for a light-weight boot that acts more like a hiking boot, these are it. I liked the freedom of not having the boot extend over the ankle. Much easier to move in. The fit is perfect. Very comfortable.

This boot feels just like your wearing hiking boots. They are super light and gripped great on round rocks on a recent trip to the North East. I’ve not get the need to put cleats on them yet but I plan to just to get that little bit of extra performance. I’d like to see metal lacing rings for durability but otherwise perfect. The fit and finish is fantastic.

They feel more like hiking boots than wading boots. They make walking longer distances to the stream so much more comfortable. They grip just as well as any of my previous rubber soled wading boots, so it will be interesting to see if "ultralight" comes at any compromise to longevity. Nice wide toe box, reminiscent of Keen hiking boots.
I knocked a star off because the sizes are pretty far off. I found I fit in a boot 2.5 sizes larger than my street shoes.
