I was impressed with the packaging, lifetime warranty and the reel feels really solid out of the box. A little heavy, but solid. I also did a drag test with my hand and I can crank it down to where I can't event pull drag and I'm a pretty strong guy. The ease of removing and replacing the spool is a nice design and the big drag knob is easy to adjust with one hand.

Is it ugly? Yes, yes it is. However, it is cheap with a decent drag. I don't hesitate using this reel in a 9/10 on my steelhead spey setup. I trust it for a one-in-a-thousand cast fish, enough said.

Fantastic value and performance for low cost - best drag in it's price range for sure. Great spool capacity but quite wide which can occasionally lead to line pileup. If there were any negatives, it is a bit heavier than my other reels but barely noticeable. And it's super pretty!

Very impressed with the performance for how inexpensive this real is. Great drag, tons of capacity, and plenty strong for the type of fishing I do.

For what this reel costs it has one of the best drag setups I have encountered and I own several other manufacturers in this price range. We use this reels to salmon fish and this is first reel that I have found that I can tighten the drag and it actually can handle these big fish with out having to palm the reel. Highly recommend to someone looking for an affordable fly reel with a good drag set-up.

This reel won't win any beauty contests, and I can't speak to the long term durability.Little bits of the paint have chipped off, but nothing majot. It is cast aluminum with an unsealed drag. . . . However, for the price, the drag is excellent. Smooth and strong. I use it on a 10wt for stripers and bluefish and also on an 8wt switch rod for steelhead. I highly recommend the Behemoth for anyone who is willing to make some small compromises in exchange for an excellent price. Just be sure to rinse it well after use. Especially in the salt.
