I bought this rod last summer and have fished it pretty regularly so I now feel that I can give it an informed review.
Aesthetically, it is beautiful. The green blank reminds me of a cross between the Ross Flystik and the Sage TCX. The cork is high quality and feels great.
This rod excels with the right line pairing and the right reel (so does any rod). Some criticisms that I have read about this rod is it's weight and it's stiffness. While the rod is a little heavier than others at higher price points, I find that this complaint is fully eliminated by the right rod/reel/line pairing. Here is what has worked for me.
Regarding the swing weight- I found that the Pfleuger Trion that I had originally put on this rod was a bit heavy and tiring me out. Lesson learned. I switched to a Lamson Liquid and that made this rod feel like something entirely different. That one might be on me... Still, finding a good reel to pair is crucial. I think I got it dialed with the -7+ reel. The rod now feels like a $700 rod.
Regarding it's stiffness and fast action, that's not always a bad thing when horsing big fish out (if only I was that lucky all the time), casting bigger bugs, and putting it out longer distances. It can have a lack of feel if it is not paired with the right line. The line that I had originally paired with it was a bit lighter and that lighter grain head was a bit anemic in loading the rod (again, that might be on me and my evolving preferences and insight). I ended up buying a SA Magnum Glow line and the 200 grain head really added some feel to it. I throw big 5" streamers with this set up, no problem. Also, who wouldn't like to see a green glowing line paired with a green 7wt at night?
It also throws a sinking line like its nothing. This rod is a good rod for this application.
Overall, I am really pleased with this rod. I has backbone, it has speed, and it is handy to have. Well done Redington.

The Vice has performed flawlessly as a warm water midwestern small mouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye rod. Nice action for the KS wind, I can turn heavy poppers and bass flies over easily and get great distance and accuracy with the rod.
