The Sage R8 Core 9wt 9'0" Fly Rod is the best model for heavy freshwater like steelhead or salmon but will easily handle the perfect model for bonefish, permit, or smaller redfish. The R8 Core features a new pattern of woven carbon fiber that allowed Sage to impart more of their proprietary resin into the blank. The result of this new pattern means that the rod is stronger farther up the blank than competitors.
