NEW! SAGE TROUT 2/3/4 FLY REEL : 2-4WT
New for 2020, the classic full framed Sage Trout Fly Reel. Drawing inspiration from the historic Sage 500 series reels, the Modern Classics collection introduces reels designed for the angler longing for a nod to the past. A romantic appeal to designs and colors that reflect a classic feel of old yet packed with performance features that will assure you’ll never lose that fish of a lifetime.
While honoring our heritage with a full-frame design, narrow profile, and classic styling, the backbone of the TROUT reel is the proven One Revolution, Sealed Carbon System (SCS) drag. The heart of the series is the 4/5/6 which will balance perfectly with the majority of all-around trout rods. The 2/3/4 is ideal for small trout rods and the larger 6/7/8 is a great option for bigger trout setups or light salmon/steelhead duty.

- Machined and anodized aluminum One Revolution Drag Knob with numbered and detented settings

Excellent build quality with classic looks and sound. More reel than I will ever need for my 4 wt, but a cool looking reel makes me feel warm inside. The bronze color looks great paired with my Hary Sirrus rod

I purchased the sage trout reel in size 2/3/4 for my 8'6" 4 weight small stream setup. And it is perfect! The reason I did this was due to the durability of the reel (and of course esthetics of course). When I am fishing small streams, climbing over rocks and stumps, it is only a matter of time before I plunge face first, sometimes causing me to watch my rod and reel outfit bounce off of the boulder in front of me. This trout reel is nice because it is less ported and, to me, feels very sturdy and more resistant to frame damage. Yes, it is heavier that other reels but I don't mind the weight, as I feel it balances the rod better while casting. I definitely recommend this reel, and the 2/3/4 is a nice size for smaller weight outfits. Once again, ReelFlyRod was great. They shipped out this product within a couple of days, which arrived promptly.
