The next wave of saltwater fly rod is here. The mid-priced Scott Wave fly rod was purposely designed for the angler wanting power, tight controlled loops in windy conditions, and turning over larger flies with precise accuracy in rod design. Perfect for the saltwater angler targeting bonefish to tarpon, the Scott Wave delivers performance, high line speeds, durability, and accuracy without the hefty price tag. However, not just for the saltwater angler, the Scott Wave will benefit freshwater anglers casting sinking lines, chasing carp, or hooking smallmouth with large wind-resistant flies, like deer hair poppers.
The Scott Wave 8wt is the most versatile rod to cover saltwater flats species, and is so light in the hand that fatigue will never be an issue. Perfect for the bonefish angler fishing in the Bahamas, Keys, or any flats. This rod also will effortlessly launch bass bugs and poppers to hungry largemouth bass. Whether loading the rod in close for a quick shot, or picking up 80ft of line for the hero shot, one back cast is all it takes and this rod will shoot your entire fly line.
The intricate beauty of the Scott Wave is displayed by its stunning black anodized aluminum and blue woven carbon fiber reel seat with matching guide thread wraps up the blank. As with all Scott rods, the Scott Wave is handcrafted in Montrose, CO with top grade components like SiC stripping guides, custom machined reel seat, super grade corks and a beautiful natural, unsanded finish. Simply put, the Wave rods are the greatest performance value Scott has ever created.
ARC - Advanced Reinforced Carbon reduces torque and increases strength

FIBERFUSE RESIN -enhanced resin system uses new chemistry to create bonds between each graphite fiber that are over 20% stronger than conventional epoxy resins
I finally got a chance to cast my 8 weight Scott Wave and have to say I am very impressed. My previous and first saltwater rod was a reel clunker compared to this. The Scott Wave is very light in hand and swing weight. It responds well when I push it hard with some good double hauls to throw long bombs, but It also has good feel up close within 40 yards. The only gripe I have is the small reel locking rings. I would have preferred that Scott left out the stylish reel seat and went with a simple anodized aluminum seat with oversized rings that are easier to lock down, especially for a saltwater specific rod. Overall though, I would highly recommend this rod!
