NEW! RIO PREMIER GOLD FLY LINE (WF3-WF9)
RIO Premier Gold Fly Line is the new and improved version of one of the best fly lines ever made. RIO Gold has been the go-to trout line around the world for many years, and for a multitude of fly fishers. The line has a long head and back taper that give casters total line control and stability at range - whether casting or mending. The unique profile is designed to load a fly rod at close range, and has a front taper that delivers perfect presentation of flies between sizes #22 and #2.
RIO enhanced the performance of this wonderful trout line by building it with SlickCast - RIO's proprietary coating technology. SlickCast creates the slickest, most durable fly lines on the market. Lab tests show that lines built with SlickCast have the least amount of friction ever measured in a fly line. The RIO Gold is the ultimate all round, floating line for the trout fly fisher.
- Dualtone: Marks the sweet spot of a fly line by providing an obvious color change in the line at the sweet spot.
- Easy ID: RIO’s printed line marking system that allows anglers to quickly and easily identify each line.
- Front welded bulletproof loop at the front of the fly line for fast rigging to a leader.
- Back welded loop welded at the end of the fly line for fast rigging to backing.

This is great line! It is a replacement for some older 6wt line by others that I was using. This line is very slick and easy to throw. It is a line that I will purchase again.

This is a fantastic line and a definite improvement on the old InTouch series. Less stretch and very slick. You should absolutely buy this line if you are interested in a line that has great technology built into it for a reasonable price. If you want more tech, go to the Elite line, but for a budget angler, this will get the job done!

I’m very happy with Rio in general, using salt and freshwater, this was my first for trout and I can cast distance and that is important because I fish still water here on cape. Thank you

Recently switched from my Orvis line that came with my Reel to the RIO Gold. What a difference! Improved casting distance and control in all areas of fishing. Wish I had done it much sooner.

I recently switched from 2019 Rio Grand 6W line to Rio Gold Premium 5W after it was suggested that the longer head on Rio Gold will improve my casting distance in streams. I'm not seeing a major difference in distance after the first few times out on the water, but it may be more my casting abilities than the line! My setup was a 5W rod/reel with the 6W Grand line (that was suggested to me when I purchased my rod/reel last year). I still like the Rio Gold Premium line, just not seeing a major improvement vs my Rio Grand line.

Rio Gold has always worked well in many situations for me. I was a little worried when I saw that this line had been “improved”, but, I have to say, it is improved and does seem slicker. I roll cast a lot and use some short overhead casts and this line works well for me. Overall, this is a nice improvement to a great fly line.
