Used some gift cards to purchase this rod. Admittedly, I have used mostly the entry level TFOs because we had 4 people in the family fishing. This rod is definitely a step up. Paired with SA line, it really loads line well. Look forward to test it in the wind!

Echoing the previous review, this reel is certainly not light weight per modern standards. But it feels sturdy and the drag is strong. Big fan of the large drag adjustment knob with indicators so you can get the drag right every time. Pairs perfectly with a Sage R8 Salt 10w.

Super nice high quality rod. Is it worth the premium price? Who knows. Feels very light in hand for a 10wt. Fast action. I paired it with a Sage Enforcer 9/10 reel and a RIO Striper WF10I line.

I think these tools are of good quality and worth the price. I recommend purchasing it first as it has all the tools you need to get started.

If you are starting out fly tying you need a bobbin threader. Saves so much time and frustration.

Bought this line for my 490 NRX+. It is surprisingly versatile: delicate dry flies and weighted streamers. Mending works really well.
