The kit is nice overall and very useful especially since I didn’t know what I was doing so having the videos and everything I needed was great. However, some of the stuff needed for some of the fly patterns is missing and I’d expect that if I’m paying 200$ for a kit it’ll include everything.

Far Bank recommends this line to pair with their redington predator rods. I haven’t cast it yet, but I am hoping it will help achieve greater distance while casting larger flies. I received this line already installed on a reel I also purchased. I noticed the backing knot had already cut completely through the line coating down to the core on the loop. I don’t know if it is a line quality issue or just the way it was tied. Disappointing for a premium line. I own many other Rio and SA lines and have not seen that before.

I purchased this rod for redfish fishing on the Texas gulf coast. It is an accurate rod, but may be a disappointing departure from the original recon because of the added weight. Perhaps it makes it more durable. Cork is excellent. Not necessarily the best value because of the cost, but it is made in the USA, so I’m okay with that. Excellent customer service again from RFR.

The one thing I don't hear enough about related to reels anywhere is the drag wheel range. Some reels can go from no drag to full drag in three turns, some need more. When you have a big fish near the boat and need to adjust your drag quickly you want a reel that doesnt need many turns to get from high drag to low and vise versa. This reel takes a few more turns than I like for the price range and competition in the same range.

These small tools are functional and will do the job for you.

Excellent value, gets the job done. Rubber cord is a bit weird to use and would recommend switching out. Does not hold smaller, slender fish (small trout, for example). Would recommend something with smaller holes...

This combo is much better than the first generation. We will see how it holds up.

Casts great for general purpose flies. I tried tying on a large non wind resistant mouse fly and struggled mightily.

Well made product, but the hook remover sometimes gets in the way when you need to remove a hook with the forceps.

These are good boots. I prefer Simms slightly, but either will do
